Customer Data Privacy & Security
We take the security and privacy of our customers' data seriously. Customer information provided to SmartCustomer is used solely for the purpose of delivering our review collection and customer feedback services and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
How customer data is protected
- Customer data is stored securely using Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Amazon RDS.
- Data is encrypted while stored within our systems.
How customer data is used
Customer information provided by your business, such as names, email addresses, and phone numbers, is used only to provide the services you've requested, including sending review requests and managing customer feedback. We do not sell or rent your customer data to third parties for marketing purposes.
Customer-controlled data retention
Businesses have control over how long customer information is retained within the platform through their Data Privacy Settings.
By default:
- Customer contact data (such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, and IP addresses used for review collection) is automatically removed after 6 months.
- Reviewer data associated with submitted reviews is retained for 12 months after the reviewer's most recent review.
Both retention periods are configurable, allowing you to shorten or extend them based on your own privacy policies and operational requirements.
